Preparadise Sorry Now in Leipzig and Innsbruck

In the Skala and in Friedbergs Bar-Theater

Two productions of Fassbinder’s play about the British serial killers Ian Brady and Myra Hindley are being staged simultaneously this autumn at two German-language theaters. Fassbinder wrote the play in 1969 as a polemical response to Paradise Now, one of the most well-known productions by the “Living Theater,” which dealt with the realization of utopias in the present. Preparadise Sorry Now presents a collage of constantly repeating mechanisms of repression and subjugation, violence and submission, and power and dependency.

Upcoming performances at the Schauspiel Leipzig’s Skala theater will take place on:

November 11, 2012 at 8 p.m.
November 30, 2012 at 8 p.m.
December 7, 2012 at 8 p.m.
