More than half of the films made by Rainer Werner Fassbinder are now available worldwide on DVD. On September 15 EuroVideo is bringing out two further essential Fassbinder works in DVD versions that include extensive bonus material.

On May 13, 2011 Bavaria Media premiered its lavishly restored version of Fassbinder’s DESPAIR (1978) at the Cannes Film Festival. Now EuroVideo is releasing the film on DVD and Blu-ray together with Robert Fischer’s documentary THE CINEMA AND ITS DOUBLE: RAINER WERNER FASSBINDER’S “DESPAIR” REVISITED (2010).

Also being released for the first time on DVD and Blu-ray on September 15 is Fassbinder’s TV film I ONLY WANT YOU TO LOVE ME. Made for Bavaria Film in 1975, the film was restored in 2010 and had its cinema premiere at the Munich Film Festival in 2010. In April 2011 it was successfully released in French cinemas by Carlotta Films. The EuroVideo DVD and Blu-ray release also features Robert Fischer’s documentary OF LOVE AND OTHER CONSTRAINTS, which includes interviews with the film’s actors and its cinematographer Michael Ballhaus.
