Karl Scheydt (1940 - 2009) is Inspector Lehner.
He started acting studies in Munich and met Fassbinder in 1965 at the Fridl-Leonhardt Actors Studio. Among his best known roles is definitely the Vietnam veteran Ricky in THE AMERICAN SOLDIER. He is equally fondly remembered for his appearances in THE MERCHANT OF FOUR SEASONS, EIGHT HOURS DON’T MAKE A DAY and IN A YEAR WITH 13 MOONS. In addition, he worked as a lighting technician.
