Ingrid Caven (1938) is the secretary Uschi.

Born in Saarbrücken, she began acting lessons after studying psychology in Munich, where she encountered 1967 Fassbinder and Peer Raben at the local Action-Theater. She was following them to the antiteater, and was married to Fassbinder from 1970 until 1972. After smaller parts in Fassbinder films (GODS OF THE PLAGUE, MEARCHANT OF FOUR SEASONS), she  followed Daniel Schmid and starred in LA PALOMA and SHADOW OF ANGELS (after Fassbinder`s play “Garbage, City and Death”), followed by a leading part in Fassbinders MOTHER KÜSTERS GOES TO HEAVEN (1975). On stage, she collaborated with Werner Schroeter and began in 1976 her career as chanson singer at Munich’s Rational-Theater (with texts by Fassbinder, Enzensberger, Wondratschek, among others; music by Peer Raben). After her legendary concert at “Au Pigall’s”, Paris, (1978), a larger audience began to know her in Germany and in France. She has been living in Paris since 1977.
