Günter Lamprecht (1930) is Fritz Walfang.

Born in Berlin, he first met Fassbinder at the Schauspielhaus Bochum, where he cast him in Bibi in 1972. At first, Lamprecht found the role inaccessible and was going to withdraw. But RWF convinced him to stay on and offered him another part in WORLD ON A WIRE. In the 1970s, Lamprecht focused on stage and TV projects, mainly in Germany. Guest appearances in such movies as MARTHA and THE MARRIAGE OF MARIA BRAUN led him to more cooperation with Fassbinder, who ultimately cast him as his Franz Biberkopf in BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ. This was the role of a lifetime and brought him worldwide fame.
