Adrian Hoven (1922-1981) is Professor Henri Vollmer.

This Austrian actor began his career in 1947. He first performed on stage in Berlin at the Renaissance Theater and the Theater am Schiffbauerdamm, but he was soon discovered for the movies. As the juvenile lover, he quickly became a star in the German cinema of the 1950s. In the 1960s, he founded his own film production company and worked successfully as a producer, author, and director of films whose primary focus were horror and the erotic film genres. Fassbinder continued to cast him in such works as MARTHA, FOX AND HIS FRIENDS, DESPAIR, BERLIN ALEXANDERPLATZ, and LILI MARLEEN.
