was born in Cologne and has been living in Berlin since the 1970s where she graduated in German and in Political Studies. After many years of working for the Berliner Festspiele she joined the Rainer Werner Fassbinder Foundation in 1995. In 1997 Ms Abel became the Director of Admininistration of the not-for-profit Foundation.
